Animal shelter adjoining barn (q.v.), with stable at right angles
and adjoining former stable with loft to north-west end, forming 2
sides of farmyard at Tarlton Farm. Late C18/early C19. Rubble
stone. Tile roof to single storey animal shelter and stable,
except for stone slate hip on north-east corner. Stone slate roof
to stable with loft, in poor condition at time of survey (June
1985). Animal shelter originally of 11 open bays with timber
posts on stone bases, some bays also with dividing stone walls and
with wooden mangers to rear. Stable on north side has 7 stable
doors, arranged as 3 pairs and one single door in angle under
shelter. Stable with loft has loft door to left, steps removed,
and 2 small boarded-over square openings to right on first floor.
Ground floor has plank door and small square opening to left, both
with timber lintel,and wider nearly central opening up 3 stone
steps, with timber lintel and sliding corrugated door.
