7/153 Tarlton Farmhouse
II
Large farmhouse. Late C18/early C19. Coursed rubble stone with
alternating flush quoins, stone slate roof to front only, remaining
pitches in concrete tiles, stone end stacks to front range. Large
double range of 2 storeys and attic with large lean-to on left hand
return and rear service wing with lean-to canopy in internal angle
with slate roof. South front has single central gable with 3-light
casement across eaves and large stone lintel and quoins. Three
similar windows to first floor but with straight voussoir heads.
Ground floor has two C19 six-pane sashes with straight voussoir
heads and flush quoins flanking central gabled porch of late C19 in
rock-faced masonry with coped gable and tall narrow pointed
archway. Door to back of 6 panels, top 2 glazed, rest fielded,
with plain rectangular fanlight. Right hand return has 4 or 6-pane
sashes, scattered casements to rear.
Interior has stick baluster stair with ramped handrail.
