Mid C19. Remodelled for Cottage Hospital soon after and again 1892 with additions
in 1911. 2½ storeys. Coursed rubble with Cotswold stone roof. 1-2-1. bays, outer
being additions of 1892 and 1911, forming balanced composition. Centre 2 storeys
plus gables central dormer. Modillions and mediaeval style corbels to eaves.
Two windows, moulded mullion and transom type, moulded surrounds, platband. Central
window was formerly a door. Ashlar chimneys. End wings lower with gable to large
half-dormers; mullion and transom windows.
In centre of 1st floor of main section is a reset sundial dated "17 Silas Wells 52"
(cf The Old New Inn, qv) with a carved corbel over - probably part of the 1892
remodelling.
