House and barn. C17 or early C18 with C19 additions. Stone rubble, the house
part painted, and slate roofs. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the 1st bay of one storey,
and is C19. Slate dripcourse. Ground floor windows have small-paned casements;
those to 2nd and 3rd bays have fixed glazing; fire window. 1st floor has
2 small windows. Entrance has wide gabled porch with shelves. 1st bay has
entrance and casement. Cross-axial stack and gable-end stack. Right of return
has C19 lean-to pig sty with slate slab pen walls. Rear has kitchen wing and
barn with lean-to outshut and barn doors to north; 2 cruck trusses, a 3rd
replaced by tie beam truss. Interior has plank and muntin partition,
wide-boarded doors and stone fireplace with range; stone stair. Property of The
National Trust.
