walls to Village Farm House

Gate piers C19 yellow sandstone. Jacobean Revival. Square base, piers have
angles formed from quadrants of fluted Doric columns separated by plain panelled
pilasters. The caps have triglyphs to the corners, so that only four show on any
face, nutules and abacus finishing with cavetto moulded base probably for urns,
which have not been provided. The piers are set into a low stone wall curved
on plan, and hold a wrought iron screen with overthrows which contains a central
half opening width gate with curved head.
