19/18 Cattle shelter/herdsman's hut
in field to north of village

Cattle shelter/herdman's hut. Mid C19 for Huddleston family; one of a group
of buildings erected as follies. Drystone construction with thick, battered
walls and stone vault (partly collapsed at time of survey - 1986). The
ends of the building are semicircular in plan and each has low, semicircular-
headed entrance. There is a small circular hole (for a stovepipe?) through
the centre of the vault.
