House with wings attached. Late C18. Flemish bond gault brick,
tiled roof. 3 storey, 3 bay centre, 2 storey single bay wings.
Centre has 3 ground - and 3 first floor pilasters with imposts
and semi-circular rubbed brick arched heads. Ground floor has
2 12-pane, and first floor 3 15-pane, and second floor 3 12-pane
windows, all sashes with glazing bars under flat rubbed brick
arches. 3 good or cast-iron segmental bowed neo-classical
balconies. Rebuilt parapets. Doorcase with pilasters and fluted
frieze; 5-panel raised and fielded door, delicate lead glazing
bar fanlight. Wing at right has one tripartite sash with 8-pane
outer and 1-pane central sashes, all with glazing bars, pilaster
divisions and frieze. First floor 2-light late-C20 casement
under flat rubbed brick arch set within semi-circular rubbed
brick rubbed arch with imposts. Parapet. Wing at left has
carriage arch of which jambs and lintel survive. C20 plate glass
shop window inserted in opening. Original door with knocker,
delicate lead glazing bar fanlight in rectangular frame. One
first floor plate glass window under flat arch set within semi-
circular arch with imposts, both rubbed brick. Interior of
central block: hall with dentil cornice and arch. Stairs off
axis on right, single stick balusters and swept rail. Upper
flights cantilevered to allow for large sash glazing bars to
light through 2 floors. 2 bay rear facade with sash windows with
glazing bars.
