Folly. c1770 with later additions. For Sir William Strickland of Boynton
Hall. Pinkish-brown brick with asphalt and Welsh slate roof. Octagonal on
plan with C19 extension to rear of no special interest. Chinoiserie style.
2 storeys with single-storey lantern. Round-arched openings to each side on
each floor, now blocked. Dentil eaves band. Bell-shaped roof, with side
stack, surmounted by lantern with blind round-arched openings. Stepped
eaves. Pagoda roof with ball finial. Disused at time of resurvey.
