Circa 1670. 2 storeys in brick with rusticated brick quoins and richly ornamented
coved eaves cornice. 8 windows, leaded casements with wood transoms and mullions.
The moulded brick string between storeys breaks forward slightly over the windows
to form flying cornices. In the upper storey the 4th window from the left is set
in a moulded brick shouldered panel with applied consoles at the base above the
original pedimented entrance, which is now converted to a window. The windows
on each end have in turn been converted to entrances. That on the left has a late
C19 version of a pediment; that on the right a reproduction pediment. Rendered
plinth. Rainwater head initialled W.H. Formerly the home of the Hebblethwaite
family.
Interior contains oak panelling and chimneypiece flanked by foliage carvings. Panelled
room to rear has ceiling with central wreath in high relief. In West half of house
an oak staircase with heavy turned balusters and ball-capped newels.

Nos 7 to 31 (odd) and tne Avenue Hospital, stables and will form a group. No 21
(including former No 19) is of local interest.
