7/18 The Chestnuts
II
House. Early - mid C18 origins, remodelled in early C19. Brick, rendered
and colourwashed, timber eaves cornice, slate roof. Plinth, rusticated
quoins to first floor. 2 storeys and attics, 3 bays in symmetrical
elevation. Ground floor: 4-panel door and fanlight in panelled reveals and
soffit behind porch with fluted columns and pilasters, with foliate capitals
and entablature. 2-pane sashes with sills and architraves. First-floor
band. First floor: 3 similar 2-pane sashes. Dentilled and bracketed timber
eaves cornice, end stacks, hipped roof.
