House and restaurant. Early C18, refronted late C19. Handmade brick,
stuccoed to front with two-span plain tiled and slate roofs and brick end
stacks. Two storeys and attic; ground floor has vermiculated rustication.
There is a band at first floor level enriched with scroll and egg-and-dart
mouldings projecting on moulded corbels. First floor has pilasters and a
full entablature enriched with hop garlands. Two bays. Ground floor windows
have plate glass with curved inserts in upper corners. First floor windows
have cornices on moulded corbels and 4-pane sashes. Skylight to left of roof
pitch. Central entrance also has a cornice on corbels, flanking fluted pilasters,
a round-headed archway with scroll relief decoration on the spandrels, raised and
fielded panelled jambs and intrados, a glazed C20 door and segmental fanlight.
Attic lights at gable ends. Cogged brick course visible above attic level at
left end.
