House. Probably C17 extended c1700 and in late C19. Timber-frame and
brick parts all under plain tiled roofs. C17 timber-frame 'L' plan extended
by a timber-framed block to south west and subsequently by a large c1700
block to south east which was itself remodelled and extended in late C19.
The whole now forms a rough 'U' plan. Timber-framed 'L' plan part: brick-
cased, central stack; one storey and attick, 3 bays. North east elevation:
C19 central 4-pane casement, multi-paned casement to left and 6-pane case-
ment to right both under segmental heads, 2 symmetrically placed gabled
half-dormers, entrance from left hand side under tiled-canopied early C20
porch. To the south west is a 2 storey, 2 bay timber-framed block, probably
formerly detached kitchen or service quarters with framing panels 4 high
from cill to wall-plate. The c1700 part: probably originally an 'L' plan
has been enveloped to north west, south east and south west by late C19
alterations including a whole garden front but retains its north east
gable elevation. This consists of 2 storeys and attic, 2 brick bands of
4 courses to eaves and first floor levels, 2 cross-casements to each floor
and 2 to attic gable. Entrance is under late C19 corner porch to left;
large central gabled break for stairs. Interior: 4 flight dog-leg stair-
case with balusters indicating a c1700 date.
