Lychgate. c1870. Stone plinths, timber cills and superstructure, plain tiled
roof. 2 battered plinths carry cills and 4 posts with carved boards and braces
which in turn support tie-beams and wall-plates of roof. Each gable is recessed
behind the roof verges and is boarded except for a lancet formed by braces
between queen-posts and collar. Gates are diagonally braced and boarded with
delicate cut-out trefoils in each resultant triangle. The effect is reminiscent
of G E Street and his followers.
