Barn, hoprooms and cowshelter. Probably C18 to early C19. Sandstone rubble
and brick with weatherboarded timber-framing. Welsh slate and tiled roofs.
Rectangular plan aligned north-west/south-east with six-bay timber-framed
barn to north-west and brick six-bay hoprooms attached at south-east end.
Cowshelter is attached to north-east side of barn at right angles. Two
levels. South-west elevation has barn to left with three openings to upper
weatherboarded floor which has three rows of framed square panels, and stable
door to left-hand side. Hoprooms to right-hand side have slate roof and
dentilled brick eaves cornice. Three first floor openings with square mullions.
First floor stable door with cast iron hoist to left of centre. Ground floor
has segmentally headed openings and two entries with ledged doors. Cowshelter
to north has about seven bays of heavy raking-strut trusses supported by large
braced posts to open north-west side and brick south-east rear wall. East
elevation of this wall has dentilled brick eaves cornice. Interior of barn
has unsquared rafters, some trusses with raking struts and others with queen
struts to collars. Hoprooms have pegged king-posts with raking struts to
principals and hop-pocket hole in upper floor.
