GV II

Farmhouse. Probably late C16 and early C17, refaced early C19, with some
1980s alterations. Timber-frame with wattle-and-daub infill clad in brick
with low hipped slate roof. H-plan, central block aligned north-east/south-
west. Rear cross-wing to north, main cross-wing to south with main stack at
junction and lateral rubble stack to central range. South-east front of two
storeys with dentilled brick eaves. Five windows, glazing bar sashes with
plastered wedged lintels. The two windows flanking the central window are
very narrow 4-pane sashes inserted c1986. Ground floor has two windows. The
central entrance has a wooden pilastered doorcase with pediment. The fanlight
is radially glazed, the door of six raised and fielded panels recessed with
panelled reveals. This range has a cellar entered from the left-hand gable
end, which has a massive C17 studded door with ornamental strap hinges.
Framing exposed internally with chamfered and stopped beams. The wall-frames
