Farmhouse. Early C17, extended late C17 with some mid-C19 alterations,
restored 1970's to 1980's. Timber-frame with rendered infill on coursed
rubble plinth and tile roof. L-plan with ranges extending to south-west
and south-east. Lateral stack of brick on north-east wall of the latter
partially enclosed by an outshut, the former also has a lateral stack of
rubble on the south-east wall. North-west front: gabled and jettied cross-
wing to left of two storeys with a 4-light C20 oriel to first floor, a 3-
light casement below, and in outshut to left a 2-light casement with plank
weathering. Range to right of one storey with attic lit by three gabled
dormers. The ground floor has five C20 casements, mostly of two lights,
save the two flanking the entrance to left of centre which are of three
lights. The door is C20 and is counter-boarded. Framing of cross-wing is
two square panels high to each floor, with carved scroll brackets to wall-
plate. Gable end has three struts to the collar, with V-struts in the apex.
The other range is three square panels high. Interior has exposed chamfered
and stopped beams. (RCHM, 3, p 26, no 8).
