Chest tomb, late C18. Stone. Flat lid with moulded edge.
Ends, one expanded rectangular baluster with fluting and
gadrooning. Sides central oval panel with raised, carved rim, for
inscription: in corners stylised flower and chain. Either side
are tall fielded panels, with outside thin ends of end 'balusters'.
Moulded plinth. Good lettering, some upper case, some mixed;
commemorates Thomas Wilmot, died 1780: some later inscriptions.
Copper-plate scrolling to last word of first.
