Farmhouse. C17 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Timber-framed
with painted brick and rendered infill on rubble plinth, brick replacement
walling, some weatherboarding, pebbled dashed to west elevation; plain tiled
roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan; hall part aligned north/south of two framed
bays; large external rubble chimney to east of south bay with offsets, brick
stack and lean-to bread oven on south side; cross-wing at south gable end
also of three framed bays with external brick chimney at east gable end
adjoining the bread oven. Single storey and attic with dormer. Framing:
three panels from sill to wall-plate; collar and tie-beam trusses with
struts throughout. Main east elevation: hall part has two ground floor 2-
light casements with plank weatherings; large gabled dormer with 5-light
casement; main entrance in north gable end within large lean-to addition;
attic light in gable above. Interior: large fireplace with range in south
bay of hall; winder staircase in cross-wing. A single-bay single-storey C19
addition adjoins the east gable end of the cross-wing, partly enclosing the
external chimney and also having an external chimney at its gable end.
