House. C17 or earlier, C18 brick front, C19 or early C20 SE rear wing.
Timber frame on brick sill exposed at rear, red brick front with some
blue headers, red brick SE wing. Steep old red tile roof. A 2-storeys
L-shaped house facing W on the N corner of the lane to the allotments.
Symmetrical S front with 2 windows to each floor, central door, and wide
areas of brickwork at each end corresponding to large internal gable
chimneys. Flush 2-light casement windows with small panes, heavy frames,
and segmental arches to ground floor. 4-panel flush beaded door.
Projecting band at eaves. At SW corner front block bonded to later brick
casing to S gable. Full-height timber frame, with straight tension
braces, exposed at rear. Formerly called Sear's Cottage. (Davis(1980)
No.23).
