GV II
Gatehouse. C16, front and E gable end faced in brick in C18, and W gable
in C20. Timber frame on red brick sill, cased in red brick with black
headers, steep old red tile roof. A tall 2-bays structure facing N with
carriageway through W bay. Inside carriageway lined with weatherboarding
on oak frame on RH, and red brick nogged exposed timber frame on LH with
wattle and daub panels remaining in upper part. Wide-spaced studs and
mid-height rail. Door into E bay. Jowled posts and clasped-purlin roof.
Single purlin in each slope with long curved wind-braces. Other farm
buildings destroyed by fire in 1917.
