House. C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed rionstone ironstonerubble, some
courses of squared ironstone, slate roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 2 storeys
and attic; 4-window range. 4-panel part-glazed door in 3-bay C20 porch extension
right of centre. Another single storey C19 lean-to extension to left. Small
one-light casement window with stone surround, moulded stone lintel and hood
mould above porch. Gable to right has a blocked window with hood mould at first
floor and attic levels, with sundial in between and datestone in gable above
inscribed C/IH/1651. Coursed squared ironstone wall extending from right angle
with tiled coping and reset datestone in blocked doorway inscribed WRE 169?.
Interior: stop-chamfered beams and pencilled inscription on underside of stair
riser: "1872 James Adams West Haddon", probably recording date of renovations
and conversion of house into row of two cottages, recently reunited.
