Farmhouse. c1600 incorporating earlier fragments; C20 restoration.
Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. T-plan with main wing aligned
north/south facing east and wing at rear extending to west, main axial
stack and south gable-end stack, entrance to left of centre on east front.
Single storey and attic; east front, four 2-light C20 gabled dormer windows,
small 2-light window and further 2-light C20 window to left, similar 2-light
and 4-light window to right of C20 ledged door; wooden diamond mullioned
windows survive in north gable end. Interior retains plank-and-muntin
panelled screens with elaborate shaped heads to main doorways in former
hall, segmental heads to remaining doorways, wooden staircase in west wing
with moulded strings and heavy newel, stone winder staircase in south gable
end, large open fireplace with massive stone lintel in former hall. A section
of cruck blade survives embedded against the stack.
