Gatehouse. Late medieval, much altered C19. Coursed squared ironstone, red
brick, tile roof, stone end stack to right. 2-storey, one-window range. Gateway
flanked by flat buttresses has timber lintel. Upper storey has front and back
walls of brick, probably replacing timber-framing and C19 loft door to front
with segmental head under small gable. Stone end walls, stone-coped gables with
kneelers. Carriageway has door to left with chamfered stone jambs. 2-centred
arched head with keyblock. This gives access to stone spiral staircase to upper
storey which has stone fireplace with chamfered and cambered head.
