House. Datestone 1694?I.S. in centre on the first floor. Remodelled c.1925.
Coursed squared ironstone, tile roof, brick and stone stacks. Z-plan, in part
lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys, attic and cellar; 4 bays. Doorway in second bay
from right has wood lintel and ribbed plank door. 2-light wood-mullioned and
transomed window with wood lintel to right. Similar window to left. One-light
stone window in left bay. Small 2-light wood-mullioned and transomed window and
stone surround in left bay on first floor. Similar windows with wood lintel in
right bay and second bay from right and oval stone window above doorway. 3
hipped dormers. Coped gable end. Stack to right of centre. Gabled wing extending
forward from left side, similar date and materials, 2 storeys and attic, one
bay. 3-light wood mullioned and transomed window with wood lintel to first
floor. Similar 2-light window above. Coped gable end with stack. Bay window on
left side with datestone 1925. C20 extensions to right of main block and
projecting forward from left side of rear of main block. Interior: remodelled
1925. Chamfered spine beams, and open fireplace. Re-used Jacobean panelling and
staircase with re-used C18 balusters.
