Shops and offices. Late C19. Brick with sandstone dressings and slate
roof. Three storeys. Three principal bays, with two narrow intermediate
bays containing doorways to offices. On the ground floor the left-hand bay
has an original shop front, and others may exist behind later fascias.
At the outer sides of the facade and flanking the doorways are Ionic
pilasters with granite shafts. Above is a moulded cornice. On the first
floor the three principal bays are flanked by Ionic pilasters supporting
an entablature with pulvinated frieze which is bowed forwards above bowed
tripartite windows which have pilaster reveals and Ionic columns as mullions.
These columns have granite shafts. The intermediate bays have windows with
moulded stone surrounds. On the second floor are Corinthian pilasters with
an entablature. The main windows are paired sashes with no glazing bars
with a column as the central mullion. Intermediate windows have carved
stone surrounds. Above are three shaped gables with sandstone decoration.
