Church of Saint Mary and Saint Margaret

A Grade I Listed Building in Castle Bromwich, Solihull

Castle Bromwich Parish Church

Uploader's Comments

Castle Bromwich Chapel as seen was built 1726-1731. However, uniquely for a church, the brick exterior was built to encase a medieval timber-framed church of c1400 whose oak pillars and massive roof still survive. Behind the brickwork of the chancel also survives a substantial part of the stone Norman chapel dating back to the 12th century.
