Beech Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Late C18. Red brick now painted and partly stuccoed, Welsh
slate roof. 3 storeys, 2 bays with 2-storey, 2-bay wing on left and 1-
storey, 1-bay addition beyond. Main house: ruled stucco; added porch
to left of centre encloses old 5-panel door; flanking 16-pane sashes have
projecting sills and cambered-arched heads. 1st floor: unequally-hung
16-pane sashes with projecting sills. 2nd floor: 8-pane sashes with pro-
jecting sills. Rendered brick end stacks. Side wing set back on left:
large 16-pane sash on left of a round-headed sash with glazing bars; two
unequally-hung 9-pane sashes to 1st floor; tall rendered end stack on
left. 1-storey part to left has ashlar lower wall and C20 casement
beneath segmental brick arch.
Interior: dog-leg staircase to rear of main house has square newels and
boxed-in balustrade.
