Includes Nos. 167 and 169 Bedford Street South. Terrace of
16 houses. 1830s. Brick with stone dressings, slate roof. 3
storeys with basement, 3 bays to each house, but No.25 is of
5 bays. Nos. 25 and 27, and 47, 49, 51 project. Basement
lintel band, 1st floor sill band and top frieze, cornice and
blocking course. Windows have wedge lintels and are sashed
with glazing bars. Most houses have one blind window to 2nd
floor. Entrances have Ionic porches, mostly 2-panel doors.
Iron railings to areas and steps have decorative heads.
No.25 has 3-bay return to Bedford St South, mostly blind
windows, Nos. 29 and 31 have 1st floor iron balconies
projecting over porches. No.33 is derelict (1984); no
railings or windows, remains of balcony. Nos. 35, 37 and 39
have 1st floor iron balconies. No.41 has small-paned
casements and base of 1st floor iron balconies, No.51 has
1st floor iron balcony.
