Barn and stables at Nook Farmhouse

Barn and stables. Late C18 and C19. Brick with concrete tile
and slate roofs. Barn has rendered brick plinth, coped gables
with corbelled kneelers, and rebated eaves. Single and 2
storeys, 4 bays. L-plan. South side has an off-centre pair of
close boarded doors with a wooden lintel flanked by single
breathers. Above, on each side, single breathers and beyond,
single close boarded loading doors with segmental heads. North
side has a pair of off-centre doors with a close boarded panel
above them, flanked to the left by 2 breathers and beyond, a
stable door with segmental head. To the right, a small casement
and a breather. Above, to left, a coped gabled dormer with a
close boarded loading door, and to its left, a square hatch. To
the right, 4 breathers. Adjoining C19 stables at north east end,
3 bays, have 3 stable doors and 4 C20 casements. Interior has
buttress walls, brick corn hole, loft over stable at east end,
and partly renewed queen post roof trusses with struts.
