This personal coat-of-arms for the musician John Ella (1802-1888) was also used by the Wymeswold branch of the Ella family. It was/is on the monument to Sir James Ella (died 1834)in the church tower but with a small crest of a crown, not a knight's helmet. There is another coat-of-arms for the Ella family with 3 fleur-de-lis's on.
