Barn, c.1700. Red sandstone and sandstone rubble, slate roof. Six bays.
with contemporary outshut to rear of first 2 bays, later outshut to front
of last 2 bays, and opposed wagon doorways to 4th bay (the rear blocked).
Wide building with roof of-relatively shallow pitch and low eaves, lofted
at both ends; chamfered plinth and dripcourse at 1st floor level; both
gables have a 1st floor door with a hoodmould, an owl hole in the apex,
and stone copings with kneelers, left gable has 3 ground floor doors.
Rear wall now concealed by added buildings. Interior: roof trusses with
tie beams, raking struts, collar; former ventilation slits on 4 levels,
all but the uppermost blocked. Unusually elaborate treatment, especially
at gables. Probably associated with former Fleetwood Hall.
