4/69 Westfield Farmhouse

Farmhouse, dated 1795 at 1st floor, enlarged. Sandstone random rubble with
quoins, slate roof with brick chimneys at original gables. Double-depth 2-bay
plan, with another bay added at left end. Two storeys, the original part
symmetrical: central doorway with plain surround protected by a pitched slab
canopy on brackets, 2 windows on each floor, all sashed without glazing bars,
in plain square surrounds; addition to left has one window on each floor,
matching these (ground floor windows have shutter lugs set in the jambs); at
1st floor over the door is a large rectangular datestone inscribed C ,

with a scrolled flourish above and below, and a boxed cross in the centre.
The quoins to the present corners, the heads and sills of the windows, the
stone gutter brackets, and the datestone, are all picked out in white. Left
return wall has a glazed porch and a 12-pane sashed window; right gable wall
has a set-back single-storey washhouse with a gable chimney; rear has 3 square
windows on each floor and a full-height 3-stage stairlight with glazing bars.
