Ice-house. Probably late C18. Sandstone, brick, and earth. Egg-shaped
subterranean ice chamber of brick, approached by a brick vaulted passage on
the north west side, covered by an earth mound (passage now barred by modern
iron gates in the middle); the whole surrounded by a circular ha-ha c.35
metres in diameter, with low returning wall of sandstone rubble. Probably
built at the same time as Rufford New Hall (q.v.).
