This photograph has been in my husband's family for a very long time and has been passed down by his maternal side, the Tophams, who lived in Lancashire for many years... It is believed that this farmhouse was built by them, possibly John Robert Topham, having been gifted the land lived in the area of Calder Vale in Lancashire, after the expulsion of James II in 1688...
