Conservative Club, 1890-91. Ashlar, slate roof. Symmetrical 5-bay
facade in free Jacobean style; basement, 3 storeys, with basement and
attic. Raised entrance with round-headed doorway flanked by coupled
columns with entablature and pediment; outer bays have 2-storey
canted bays with parapets and finials, all windows up to this level
are large with mullions and transoms, those on top floor are mostly
round headed; attic has balustrade with finials, in the centre a blind
pedimented dormer lettered "CONSERVATIVE CLUB", and at the corners
mansard-roofed attics with gabled dormers. Interior of little interest.
