Farmhouse, now house. Later C17, extended in C18. Coursed squared sandstone
rubble with quoins, roof of corrugated sheet, and stone slate and slate on the
addition, brick chimneys at original gables. Two-bay end-baffle-entry plan,
with addition at right hand end. Two storeys; doorway at right hand end of
2nd bay, a 2-light window to 1st bay, a 3-light mullioned window to 2nd bay,
and between these at mid-level, a 2-light mullion window (probably a
stairlight), all these with hoodmoulds; at 1st floor a horizontal rectangular
window now a 2-light casement. Addition to right has 2 windows at ground
floor and one above. Left gable has a 3-light chamfered mullion window at 1st
floor, right gable has door and blocked window at ground floor, 2-light
mullioned window above; rear mostly altered but has a 4-light mullioned window
with hoodmould at ground floor of 2nd bay. Interior: not inspected, but
believed to contain inglenook fireplace bressummer and beams, and a central
lateral staircase (i.e. similar internal arrangement to Cliff Farmhouse
(1696), Morris Farmhouse (1693) and Warth Farmhouse, all in Heapey CP q.v.).
