Ground floor of large house, C18, rebuilt c. 1850, upper floor demolished
following fire; now hospital. Ashlar, with modern mansard roof of
concrete tiles with a cupola in centre of front. Square plan 7 bays x
6 bays; Georgian style. Symmetrical. Pedimented doorway with coupled
demicolumns, round headed fanlight with radiating glazing bars; 3 windows
each side, all sashed with glazing bars and bracketed cornices; 4 similar
windows to left return wall and 2 blocked; various additions to right
return wall and rear. Interior: said to have good C18 plaster ceiling to
drawing room on left (now concealed by false ceiling).
