House, late C17th. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. 3-unit plan.
2 storeys. Windows double chamfered (the inner chamfer hollow) with
mullions and hoods. Gabled porch has C19th tooling on stone. To its
left is a 5-light window. To its right are 2 of 4 lights. On the 1st
floor are 2 of 3 lights to the left of the porch and 2 of 3 lights to the
right. The outer door of the porch has a chamfered plain stone surround.
Chimneys on gables and to the left of the porch. The right-hand (north)
gable has a coping with kneelers, the left-hand gable having a projecting
stack with offsets. The rear wall has 2 3-light mullioned windows at the
left-hand end, with outer chamfer and inner hollow chamfer. Interior.
The left-hand room has a fireplace in its gable wall with moulded surround
and false 4-centred head. The middle room has chamfered axial beams and
a modern fireplace. The right-hand room has stone dairy slabs and a later
brick chimney stack. Set into a later barn opposite the house is a datestone
'ID 1676' which could have come from the house.
