GV II
Pair of houses, possibly c.1600 with later alterations and possible
earlier remains. 2 storeys. Western house has a 4-light mullioned
window with inner hollow chamfer and outer casement moulding. To the
right is a window with plain reveals under a wider Tudor-arched
doorhead. On the 1st floor is a 3-light window with hollow-chamfered
mullions and a re-used moulded head. To the right is a 2-light mullioned
window of C19th type. At the right is a straight joint which suggests
that the adjoining house may be older, and a single-storey gabled porch.
The eastern (right-hand) house has a window with architrave at the left
and one with plain stone surround at the right. On the 1st floor are 2
sashed windows with plain stone surrounds, At the left is a blocked
one-light chamfered window. The door, now within the porch, has a
chamfered stone surround, Left-hand gable has projecting stack.
Chimney between houses has cap faced with part of embattled medieval
chimney cap. Rear wall has openings with plain reveals, and, at the
right-hand side on the 1st floor, a chamfered opening with segmental
head, now a window.
