5/60 Bridge over moat at Thurland

Bridge over moat and gateway, 1880s by Paley and Austin. Sandstone rubble.
Bridge has single segmental arch and embattled parapets with saddle-backed
coping. Parapets terminate at their southern ends with octagonal piers,
and at northern ends against buttresses to gateway. Gateway has moulded
segmental pointed arch with hood, and a saddle-back coping stepped down in
the centre. Above the arch is a panel carved with a shield of arms.
