7/96 Terrace wall on south-west and
south-east sides of Hornby Castle

GV II

Retaining wall, probably mid and later C19th. Sandstone rubble with
coping. On the south-west side there are stone steps at each end of the
wall, each with 3 flights with side walls and octagonal piers. On the
south-east side there is a straight flight of steps parallel with the
wall, and, at the north end, a small lean-to building of semi-circular
plan treated as a bastion.
