Dominating the skyline on the left is the 12th Century Keep, or "Great Tower", of Henry II. The Keep is 83 feet high and has walls up to 21 feet thick. Below the Keep are the massive walls and towers of the Outer Bailey. Right-of-centre is the Constable's Gateway, currently the pedestrian entrance to the castle grounds. The bank in the foreground on the left has Second World War "Dragon's Teeth" anti-tank obstables running down its side.
