Group of cottages. "1642" on datestone but largely dating from mid C18 to early C19. Hammer-dressed stone, partly watershot, with graduated stone slate roof. Large T -shaped building of 3 and 4 storeys which incorporates loom workshops and a barn. The west range (head of T) incorporates the earliest work, has 4 storeys and 3 bays, and was extended and altered at various periods in its history. Windows are various 3, 4 and 7-light recessed chamfered cavetto moulded mullions and 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10-light recessed flat-faced stone mullions. Eaves cornice and ridge chimney stacks with cornices. The east range (stem of T) is 3-storey, single-depth, 4 bays long and has 2, 3, 4, 6 and 10-light recessed flat-faced mullion windows, opposed cart entrances with segmental keystone arch, and an owl hole in gable. A flight of cantilevered stone steps rises within the angle to give access to former loom shops on the second floors of each range. C20 porch to No.5. Shaped eaves gutter brackets and ridge stack.
