House, at one time 2 cottages. Late C18 but incorporating a
cruck-frame probably dating from C17. Hammer-dressed stone
with graduated stone slate roof. 2-bay 2- storey house which
is 1 room deep. Each bay has a dressed door to left
(blocked in bay 1) a 4-light ground floor and a 3-light
first floor window all with recessed flat-faced mullions. 2-
light windows to gable and rear. Ridge chimney stack. The
cruck frame is concealed in the right party wall and is a
rare survival of the timber-framed tradition in Saddleworth.
