Farm buildings including stables, barns and hay lofts. 3
brick ranges with keystones dated 1839, 1850 and 1859 and
inscribed M. W. or M. Woodiwis. The south-west range
incorporates a timber-framed structure with a dated lintel -
"RHM 1687" (Robert and Mary Hyde). Brick with graduated
stone slate and slate roofs. 4 sides of the quadrangle,
broken only by the Hall (q.v.), generally on 2 storeys. The
entrance front has a central open-pedimented gable with
oculus and swept sides above an elliptical arched driftway
entrance with keystone which is flanked by ogee-headed
panels. On either side are rows of round-headed openings,
some blind and some with honeycomb vents, a feature which is
repeated throughout the quadrangle. Dovecote in arched
recess on inside of gable. Arched driftways also occur on 2
of the other sides. The 3 structural bays of timber-framing
have square panels and diagonal braces at both top and
bottom of the principal posts.
