Lychgate. Late C19. Stone slate roof on timber structure. 2
posts (with later diagonal supports) rise to support a ridge
beam and cross beams which in turn support eaves purlins.
Timber members are chamfered and shaped braces strengthen
the cross beam/post junctions. The hammer-dressed stone
walls have triangular coping stones and at one time included
the stone (now in churchyard) commemorating the school of
1814.
