Uploader's Comments

Keld Chapel is currently owned by the National Trust, being donated to them by Sir Samuel Scott in 1650. It is located in Keld Lane at the north of the hamlet of Keld, 1 mile south west of Shap. The River Lowther flows past the south of the village. The chapel is medieval and dates to the 15th century. The chapel is open to the public via a key left in one of the local houses, as indicated in a notice affixed to the chapel door.
