Bedfont House (David Henry Waring House) Staines Road, Bedfont.
FROM THE NOTES OF THE LATE EILEEN STARTIN;-"Between Bennett's Farm and the Bedfont Rd. junction stands the David Waring Home. Originally called "Bedfont House" , this is a late 18th century building, with later additions, including a conservatory built c. 1905. It was possibly built for Captain William Mears and in 1817 was owned by a Mrs. Mears. In 1903 it was the home of Mr. David Rhiner Waring and his family. After his death c. 1930, a Miss Rowe Waring lived there until her death in 1949. She left the house as a rest and holiday home for the elderly of Bedfont Parish. The Parish could not afford the bequest and a decision in Chancery vested the bequest in Feltham Urban District Council, who opened it as an old people's home in 1955"
