Church of All Saints

A Grade I Listed Building in Cottesbrooke, West Northamptonshire

All Saints Church, Cottesbrooke, Northamptonshire - interior

Uploader's Comments

The interior of All Saints Church at Cottesbrooke in Northamptonshire is quite unique with an 18th century plaster ceiling, box pews lining the 13th century nave, and the three-decker pulpit also dating from the 18th century. Memorials to the Langham family line the walls, and there is a mausoleum beyond the altar. There are also memorials to their predecessors at Cottesbrooke Hall, the Redes. The small staircase on the right leads up to a gallery where the Langham family would sit on cushioned seats, warmed by a fire in the grate, and looking down at their servants who would be seated in the Langham family pew.
