House. Mid C18. Brick with slate roof. Double depth plan. 2 storeys with attic,
5-window range. Central C19 half-glazed door. Ground-floor windows are C19
sashes; first-floor are C18 sashes with glazing bars. All openings have gauged
brick heads with keyblocks. Moulded stone cornice, raised brick string course,
ashlar gable parapets, with brick stacks at ends. 3 roof dormers. Right gables
have round headed staircase window with round headed attic window above with
leaded lights. Rear similar has sashes with glazing bars and round headed
staircase window with Gothick glazing bars. Later C18 projecting wing at rear.
Interior:C18 panelled entrance hall with moulded cornice. Inner staircase hall
has fine C18 staircase with turned balustrade and two quarter landings; panelled
walls, moulded cornice and reeded plasterwork around ceiling beam. Drawing room
to right of entrance and corresponding first-floor rooms have C18 panelling and
moulded cornices. Former kitchen, now dining room has remains of open fireplace
cast iron boiling ring to right. Other ground-and first-floor rooms have moulded
cornices. Former dining room, now kitchen has chamfered and stopped ceiling
beam. Staircase to second floor has splat balustrade. Butt purlin roof
structure.
